Everything suggests to me to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome?

I'm getting carpal tunnel in my hands and is really hurting. I write a lot all day in my job but do not want to quit because I like my job. I've tried to lower the keyboard, I bought a mouse Fingertouch only, and have the mat special support for the wrist. Is there any other suggestions that can dispense with the last option on the expensive surgery?
