why trees are wood and burlap wrapped around the base?
I saw this in the bottom of the trees and went a mile. All trees along side all the way had been covered. Oh, this was in Massachusetts. Anyone know? These trees are wide basis (trunk?) And they are very, very high and this was done only in the last week.
Usually a tree is wrapped to protect from an outside agency. One of these organisms can be insects, diseases, or human beings. Where I grew up, it was not uncommon to see trees wrapped in plastic or wood to protect the "weed eaters" than men used to cut the grass. Otherwise, it is a protection against insects and diseases. It is probably a protection against some types of wood-borer. Hope aid.
