How I can get the lid of a iPoint electric pencil sharpener?

I have an iPoint Electric Pencil Sharpener Westcott and suddenly the cable is jammed in the background, so it was going to take off the outer transparent and have twisted and pulled it, but I can not get the clear container containing chips pen off! I know this is a very silly question but I just I can not understand and I think I threw all the manuals and cases of thinking "oh, it's just a sharpeners, how difficult it can be? "Obviously I thought wrong! well, obviously I have a major brain fart today. Can someone give me step- step?? Honestly, I'm not usually this stupid … lol ummm what stick?? OMG, I feel so stupid!

I'm sure many people who have the fart same brain. I have this ipoint Costco. The first is the pencil lead stuck. I could not fix and buy another (new version), one year after Costco too. I've tried everything and spent a long time, but still could not open the lid to empty the waste. Why could not make it easier to use. I have three master's degree in engineering as I could not open this thing without breaking it. I will not buy another ipoint again!
