Watchmen Movie Rorschach
Watchmen Movie Rorschach
In the movie “Watchmen”, why does Rorschach’ mask move around in different patterns?
I just watched this movie last night and either I missed the explanation or they didn’t explain why. Anybody know?
In the comic book, it says that when Walter Kovacs was a dressmaker, he had to make a dress that contained shifting material based off a design by Doctor Manhattan. The woman didn’t want the dress anymore so he kept it and made it into a mask.

The medium is a comic book that has flourished around the world just as viable as any other form of entertainment, books, music, or movie. All over the world, that is, except the United States, where comic books are looked at mostly as a means of one of the children.
However, in late 1970, several comic book writers who were tired of not being taken seriously change the way we look at comics. Sought to receive the same respect as comics writers in places like Japan, Belgium and Italy received. In the 1980s comic books were becoming darker, with more stories for adults that strayed from the good vs. evil plots simple boy that American readers were accustomed.
Perhaps the greatest example of this was Watchmen by writer Alan Moore and artist Dave Gibbons. Watchmen was a politically charged history of superheroes in the 1980s that were all too human because of their serious character defects and very little heroic behavior.
The series is considered by many as the greatest comic book series of all time is a standard reading for anyone who has been introduced in the middle. There have been several attempts in the last two decades to produce a film of the book, but unfortunately, they all fell through the roof. It was not until 2007, after the release of the movie 300 was announced that director Zak Snyder's Watchmen would lead to the big screen.
The plot of the film refers to an alternate 1985 where superheroes exist, tensions between the U.S. and the Soviet Union are at their peak. The vigilante Rorschach (Jackie Earl Hayley) is investigating the murder of the Comedian (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and discovers a plot to discredit and murder various heroes. Rorschach uncovers a conspiracy that goes far wider than his colleagues involving past, which could completely change the course of history.
The film, however, gained a bit of backlash from writer Alan Moore, who has declared he will not view the film that has been disgusted with every other movie based on his work and does not want any credits in the film, whether it is good or not. However, the artist Dave Gibbons has been said that the film seems to be true to the spirit of the original work and that he fully supported the film.
