PLEASE HELP! I need help on how to open a stapler, and fast!?

I have a Swingline Optima Stapler PowerEase can not mess up a little that is flat so you can staple things on the walls. I know how to load the clips and what to do when it seems to be stuck, but I'm very confused about this. I need to get an answer as soon as possible on how to 'flatten' before time runs out so I can work on these walls! THANKS.
