Why my desk lamps keep burning out?

my desk lamps keep burning out. I say "lights" because four separate lights, all new or newish, light bulbs burned in a week. All burned when you turn, as bulbs tend to do. All were connected to the same wall in the same power strip. An incandescent lamp has a small standard, others are halogen. The PowerStrip is shared by this team and its components, none of which ever seem to suffer from eating disorders. I assumed the probability that many lamps / bulbs is quite low but there is a problem largest electricity. Could surges or falls can cause light to exit without notable affect other electronics? I can not see anything here, Please help.

Most electronics have built in surge suppressor – the lights are not, of course. It seems that you are getting a power surge as the excess voltage will shorten the lamp life. It could also live near a power company substation. Standard power an average home between 115 and 125 volts, but people close to a substation may have levels of more than 130 volts. Not much you can do for the halogens but try surge strip. Eventually it will fry the transformers at parties or remedy the situation. Two things you can try: buy a new power strip with surge suppression built in. Even if you're already using one, cheap energy suppressors wear strips when they are constantly bombarded with spikes. The other thing you can try is go to an electrical supply store and buy a regular bulb rated at 130 volts instead of 120 volts (often used in commercial and industrial applications, because they last longer.) Their filaments are reinforced to withstand the higher voltage. You can also call the electric company and ask them to check the voltage line at home and recommend corrective procedures if they see a surge. This can be hard on their equipment too. They may recommend the installation of a surge protector and surge capacitor directly into your service panel to absorb spikes and surges on the house.
