How can restore a Solid Wood painted desk back to it’s original dark wood color?

It was once a dark walnut colored wood and now it’s been painted thickly dark green. I just want it back the way it was. Is there a product or should I just sand it?

Yes you can restore it!!! It can be very messy though. You need to get a stripping chemical called ZIP STRIP. WEAR RUBBER GLOVES when you use this product. once that you strip the desk you then need to patiently sand it. It’s a labor of love.
