The basics of garden fences
The fences are open, to use as a trellis of roses or other plants, or close to serve as a wind the sun or privacy screen.
The materials will largely depend on the use the fence is going to happen. The most popular, and probably the most attractive, are built wood fences in various forms, but new fences of asbestos-cement and corrugated metal sheets are colorful and stand up against the best putrefaction.
Due they are heavier, which are usually erected in a zigzag pattern, the better to stand up against prevailing winds.
The main problem in extending the life of a fence is derived from the rot in the ground line, because that is susceptible to alternating wet and dry conditions.
Among the best wood to resist putrefaction is Southern California redwood and cypress, white cedar and red cedar, chestnut, locust and yours. While painting the wood with condoms often extends the life of your fence, this will not help unless the preservatives penetrate.
That's why a post that has been treated with creosote machine will resist putrefaction, while a post creosoted hand will not. However, if you use a good preservative on a clean, dry wood, unpainted wood and make two or three layers, you can do a good job.
Among the commercial wood preservatives are those of PCP, naphthenate copper (which has a green color) and zinc naphthenate, a clear solution.
Besides the point where after reaching the ground, wherever they shit two pieces together in a wooden fence is subject to putrefaction. Therefore, it is advisable to treat the wood where members come together before putting the fence. This will be preserved much better than the paint later.
Set your poles deep enough into the ground to withstand the prevailing winds, at least 2 meters and deeper still. Heavy Set posts in concrete. Tamp firmly in place so the fence does not move. Hardware used should be galvanized.
Among the most popular types of fences are the traditional pickets, fence posts and railway and near the fence, but with increased stress on screening for privacy lattice types of lamas and are increasingly popular.
The fence post and rail is made of posts set at intervals of 10 feet with large slots cut in them. The rails are 11 feet long, tapered to flat ends that are inserted into the posts. The barrier fence has split rails embedded in a frame braced and nailed together, the end pieces of each panel into the studs.
The billboard, traditionally white, has posts spaced 8-12 feet apart, rails 3×4 inch and stings of 2-3 inches wide, pointed at the top.
The pickets should be 2 inches off the ground at the bottom and extend well above the top rail. The shaft is about a kind of wooden fence with round shafts that pass through holes in the rails.
There are many possible variations of fences board used for screening. A wide lane may alternate with a narrow lane, or board may be applied vertically, such as fences, with perhaps a staggered together on each side of the railing. Together they can be bent at a grid to give effect while admitting air of privacy and sunlight.
A fence fabric basket may be constructed of thin boards, flexible and provides total privacy and a beautiful background for planting. It is hard to build yourself, however.
