How can you maximize the space of 7'x8 'bedroom without loft bed?

I'm moving to a new home, and have had to take the smallest bedroom. We really can not afford new furniture, so you'll have to settle for the bed that I have (a single drawer storage below) How I can maximize the space for study and rest?
