Top 7 benefits of recycling
Recycling is a process – a series of activities, if you will, that includes: the collection and sorting of waste materials, processing of these materials to produce new branded products, and the purchase and use of these new products by consumers.
Recycling is more optimized and efficient in terms of practice the three Rs of waste management: reduce, reuse, recycle.
Reduce waste that would otherwise get carried away recycling centers or landfills will be achieved through a deliberate reduction in our purchasing and consumption, composting organic waste, and outright refusal to use glass bottles artistic lampshades, giving their old cell phones to family or friends for reuse, and containers from the street upcycling garbage in tubs swimming community.
But, why recycle? Why go through all the work of recycling of waste? How Recycling benefits us and the environment?
We will review the benefits of recycling:
Recycling helps protect Environment
Recycling reduces drastically the amount of trash accumulating in our landfills or burned in incinerators. the engineered landfills in most cities are designed to contain leaks of toxic chemicals from the decomposition of solid waste on of our water systems. But for how long? We are receiving reports of hazardous chemicals polluting the water supply in some cities. The solid waste incineration for electricity can be efficient, but we pay the price in terms of increased carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
Recycling helps to conserve scarce resources
To put this benefit in its proper perspective, we to consider this statement by the Department of Environmental Protection Pennsylvania: "By recycling more than 1 million tons of steel in 2004, residents of Pennsylvania saved 1.3 million tonnes of iron ore, 718,000 tons of coal and 62,000 tons of limestone. Through recycling newsprint, office paper and mixed paper, saving almost more than 8.2 million trees. "
Resources like oil and precious metals (gold, silver, bauxite, copper, etc) are finite resources that will be exhausted sooner or later. Cell phones and computer manufacturers like Dell and Apple, recognize the need for a stable supply of raw materials – Most are active in buy-back programs to recycle materials from used products.
Promote Recycling Energy Efficiency
Recycling is much more efficient in terms of energy consumption, to produce something of the fresh material. Made at home scale, this could lead to a significant reduction in our energy costs. The energy required to extract, process and transport the metal mine to a refinery is obviously much greater than what is required to recycle Metal Products used – which costs more energy to making a mark new aluminum can from fresh material to make 20 cans from recycled materials!
Recycling helps build a strong economy
Each cost reduction, energy efficiency, conservation of materials, generation of employment and the benefit of Recycling adds up to help build a strong economy for our country. Recycling, done at a scale across the country, has a tremendous positive impact on the economy. There fall in the price of recyclable materials last year, when the financial crisis began, but it is a testament to the resilience of the industry that Prices are now back to levels before the crisis – a recovery that is far ahead than most other industries. The work will be generated and municipal and city governments are enjoying huge savings in electricity, garbage collection and disposal costs.
Recycling creates jobs
Recycling generates more jobs than landfills or incineration of waste. That is a benefit that we can not lose sight at this time recession and high unemployment. Let us consider the removal of 10,000 tons of solid waste: the burning of electricity will create a job; collection and disposal in a landfill that create six jobs, processing of waste for recycling will generate 36 jobs!
Recycling builds community
band of people and create communities around common causes, issues and defenses. Recycling is no different. In many neighborhoods and cities across the country, we see concerned citizens working together on recycling initiatives, the environmental pressure groups and recycling groups Free. If you are new to recycling or environmental protection, go find a local group to work. Staying the course is more fun and rewarding when you have fellow enthusiasts cheers to you.
Recycling can be a cost effective solution
If you want to make money to survive in these hard times or start a home business, recycling is a profitable option. It is relatively easy and inexpensive to start a recycling business at home. Just plan what material (Cell Phone, paper, or metals, etc) they intend to collect, store plan, contact the recycling plant for price and be ready to begin collecting recyclable materials and selling them to the recycling facility with a decent profit. The largest recycling giants in the U.S. It all started as home businesses for years – you can do, too – the kids just recognized the enormous potential of this business well ahead of the crowd.
The benefits of recycling for each of us, society and the environment are our reasons why to recycle. For many of us, recycling has become second nature – a way of life. It is a very small but vital component of protecting the environment – without recycling, all our efforts to protect the planet will be less effective, even useless. Let's all continue recycling.

Online companies that I can order Organic, Natural Products or Foods, & Recycled items??
Please I live in a rural town & ebay is my main source for shopping anymore. I do have a few web sites I order recycled paper products, vegetarian foods, & all natural/organic bath products from. The only thing that bothers me is shopping for just a few items from each site & then paying the shipping. So what I am looking for is web site for us people who like organic, natural, recycled, & vegetarian supplies which I can hopefully shop from who carries a “online store”. This would be easy & cheaper for me so that I can shop for things and just pay for one shipping price. I’m open to all suggestions. Thanks!
Great company, geat variety!! We have used this company for organic items and really like dealing with them. They do have the paper, plastic & household items. Actually, we still go to town every 6 months for our paper goods. They seem to weigh so much and the shipping would offset our trip to town. Although, some times they have specials like free shipping. But, as far as organic/vegetarian items, it is really good.
