Life and Lock identity theft

Identity theft is currently the most rapidly growing crimes in the world. We are talking about, surprise from Credit Cards opened in your name to that all the famous Nigerian prince looking to send money to your account (yeah, right!).

I even victim of identity theft in several my bank accounts have been accessed to make multiple purchases over the past years. This crime is becoming a art form and thieves do this activity pending a successful career life. They spend their time trying to find new ways to move by the government agencies cards Credit, even distasteful customer where, without proper care, your information may be given.

Recently, I saw an ad on CNN Headline News, where I saw a very creative marketing trick to show off the quality of their service. Imagine this, a multimillionaire who shows his real social security number on conventional television and then has the nerve to talk about identity theft. On the one hand, you think it's a dream come true criminal. But it's not as simple as we think.

LifeLock, as indicated in their website at LifeLock.com is the leader of the industry leader in the rapidly growing field of Identity Theft Protection. And the service they provide to their customers is the safety of all for just $ 110/year (annually) or $ 10 month (monthly). And in their shop windows, CEO Todd Davis proudly Social Security number of 457-55-5462, to the public via television and the website of the company. Very clever. What better way to promote safety by making your own identity open for attack!

My question is "worth the price?"

Visit their site and tell your 5-step process of the services they provide to their customers.
Step 1: Ask the credit bureaus to set fraud alerts on their behalf.
Step 2: Repeat Step 1, every 90 days.
Step 3: Request your name removed from Credit Card pre-approved and junk mail lists.
Step 4: You're going to order your free credit reports and have sent you in your name.

For your information, these steps are things we can do on our own for absolutely free. Steps 1 and 2 can be done by lifting the phone and call the credit bureaus once every quarter. Step 3 is a bit more time but you can do to visit a couple of websites, sending an option few letters and there are several web sites, addresses and phone numbers to opt for the email spam and credit card. "Google is," find more than enough to guide you in the right direction. Step 4 is easy to do by the ever-so-popular "AnnualCreditReport.com" .

So if all these are offered absolutely free, why people like and what I need this service? Would you honestly pay for steps 1-4?

Well, I forgot to mention Step 5 …
Step 5: $ 1,000,000 Guarantee.

As stated on its website web:
"The $ 1M Guarantee that states if you are a victim of identity theft at any time while a client, LifeLock will pay up $ 1 million in professional fees and compensation for life, but that excludes special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages, including lost wages or profits, lost business or missed opportunities. "
Here are our pros and cons.
Buy?

  • Protection of any cases of identity theft future.
  • Protection of any money spent on the case if the victim does not incur out of pocket expenditure.
  • Research shows that victims are spending more time to resolve cases of identity fraud, definitely LifeLock would save time.

Do not buy?

  • With proper care and attention, also decrease the chances of identity theft considerably.
  • Research shows 68% of identity fraud victims incur no out-of pocket.

Sounds good, but before buying, consider some additional measures you can take to combat identity fraud.

Additional measures to combat identity fraud

Pinch your documents. If you receive junk mail, credit card offers or even get rid of unwanted old documents, shred them. Once I was advised that if you shoot something with your address label on it, is destroyed. Do not just get the regular grinders, investing in a shredder cross-cut quality that is strong enough to cut a CD / DVD clips, and staples. Ordinary disposers are good enough. A thief can puzzle this together. These days cross cut shredders go for about $ 50 at Office Depot.

Separate the Shredded Documents. Some may think that this step is a bit extreme, but the harder the criminals who do, the better. Before disposing of your documents shredded, pour half of its portfolio in a garbage bag and discard the other half in another.

Take Out the trash in the morning. We all know that there are criminals out there that I love to go through the garbage like a raccoon rummaging for scraps. Sometimes we can put sensitive information in the trash in most cases which allows criminals to attack us while we sleep. Instead of taking the trash the night before Trash Day, is out this morning before leaving for work. Not only does a little more difficult for criminals due to lack of time, but is there a better chance of interconnection eyes of neighbors who may be leaving for work can detect an unwanted intruder. Which brings me to my next step …

Open your eyes. If you notice something suspicious, call your local authorities. If you see a stranger or an intruder in your or your neighbor, garbage, mail, or even the entrance to the property, notify your local authorities immediately.

Limit what you have in your portfolio. Do you know how many handbags / purses have been lost in the U.S.? Keep personal information in your wallet soon as possible. Never keep your Social Security card in your wallet, try to avoid holding their credit cards in there as well. I have only my driver's license information insurance, and some cards in mine. I believe firmly in mind to do the same.

SPAM is SCAM. And I mean junk e-mail. No Prince Nigerian who wants to keep his fortune until he comes to America. That's not asking for your AOL password no matter how authentic the E-Mail searches. And the mail file means that the discharge will not nude photos of Britney Britain (and the way he has been acting these days, you'll never know, but still DON "T OPEN). SCAM SPAM is only with the intention of taking advantage of you.

Change Your bank account number. Some may disagree with this, but I'm talking about the measures that had to take my account to solve my problems of identity theft. Wells Fargo and not compensate you for your money instead of going through a criminal investigation. My only option was to change my checking account number. It takes a little extra work when it comes to change the information as direct deposit, linked accounts, and so on, but I found it to be very worthful.

Password-protect your service. Call your phone company, company electricity, credit card company, or any of his public service and ask if they have a password or access code which can be set your account should be given to changes in particular to your account.

In conclusion, there are steps for each of us to take to help prevent identity fraud. Most of them are free. Some of them require a little more time for that extra measure of security. And finally, some may cost, as LifeLock.com.

I will not decide for you if you are a LifeLock must register separately serve. As seen in this article, there are plenty of steps to help prevent identity fraud, but unfortunately it is impossible to be 100% effective all the time. LifeLock pad can be a great alternative if they become a victim of identity fraud, but then we must take into account, most people do not incur out of pocket, just a lot of lost time However writing if the number of many companies and businesses.

What are some steps you take to help prevent identity fraud can share with readers? Do you think that LifeLock is the type of business you as an individual would benefit from? About the Author

Hello, My name is Anthoney Grigsby, owner and creator of HelpMyCashGrow.com. There are a lot of people in this world that are having problems with their finances. I know this, because I used to be one of them. Though I’m still in the process of building my finances, I remember those days where my finances looked horrible. I used to live from paycheck to paycheck and those times were my dark days. No, I’m not a millionaire (far from it), I don’t have a fleet of cars and houses, and this isn’t a late night infomercial. What I have done is educated myself on the basics of personal finance, such as budgeting, saving, etc. and I would like to pass on my knowledge to you. Visit my video blog at http://www.helpmycashgrow.com, and get a deep insight and a step-by-step process of learning how to organize and manage your money, and along the process you’ll learn how I am following the same steps that I teach.

Is the electric fence I installed a real savings rather than having someone professionally installed?

I have a fence to contain eclectic our dog and not have her hit by a passing car. I can not put a wooden fence. Please do not tell me what this method is cruel. I understand the advantages and disadvantages. Is it terribly hard to do? Please stay stapled tasks and not break the 18-gauge wire? Thank you for your sugggestions and help.

It's a bit depends on the dog, but generally worth the additional cost to have a company to do so. When they do, helping to train the dog to properly use the fence, where if you do it yourself training is all up to you. If you have a very trainable dog, or have experience training can be done. My brother installed himself and had some difficulty with the interference of underground cables and such. The installation itself was little time consuming, but not unreasonable for the savings. Just something more than what check in – some cities have a leash law (which usually indicates something about the fact that your dog must be physically restrained and under the direct control) not recognize the "invisible" fence follows the law.
