Precise Mousing Surface
Where can I find a very smooth surface Mouse Pad?

I’m now on my third optical mouse and find the movements are not incrementally small enough to do precise graphics work. I clean the contact pads periodically and that helps just a little. Using just my Desk Top (i.e., the top of my desk), helps a little but I worry about wearing off the thin veneer. Are there mouse pads with especially slippery surfaces, or is there some other material available that I could cut to size. (A non-optical mouse works great at first, but then I’d have clean the ball too often, which would be a drag.) Any ideas? Thanks.
