I accidentally an electrical cable staples?

I was stapling the power cable for my LCD projector to the wall and accidentally went through wire with a staple. I removed it and used a continuity tester to see if any of the three cables were permanent bridge, but do not seem to be. Can you tell me Electricians what would happen if drivers were out short in the cord? It is connected to a surge suppressor. Could start a fire? Travel suppressor? Blow up the projector? Thanks!
