GBC CombBind C55 plastic comb of Binding Machine Product Review
Overview:
- The GBC CombBind C55 is a manual plastic comb binding machine with a built in plastic comb opener.
- It is designed for small offices, mobile workers and personal users that occasionally need to bind documents with plastic combs or GBC binding spines can Zipbind resealed.
- The GBC C55 is small, easy to use and is ideal for binding documents up to 90 sheets at once.
Strengths / Features:
- The CombBind C55 is small, lightweight and portable. This makes it ideal for users who need to take your comb machine Binding with them on the road. It even comes with a built-in handle so you can easily make the machine with you on the road.
- This machine includes a punching mechanism advocates the lever that is unique among binding machines, plastic comb. This campaign drilling lever handle makes punching a few documents easy and convenient. It also helps reduce the amount of space consumed by the C55.
- I also use a special comb style swivel opening to open its plastic combs. You only need to turn the knob on the team for opening and closing the combs. Again, this eliminates the troublesome lever to open the comb binding spines.
Weaknesses / Limitations:
- Unfortunately, the GBC C55 is not very durable. The machine consists of almost all plastic components. This is not a big problem, except for the fact that the fingers and hooks on the comb opener are plastic. Over time, these hooks are likely to break, especially if the machine is used extensively
- The C55 drill is designed only for 2-3 sheets of paper at once. This will be good for users who need to bind a few documents per week, but it would be very tedious for binding to a large number of reports or documents thicker.
- In addition to the limited capacity of the C55 drill, which is not compatible with great size plastic combs. The comb opener on this machine is designed exclusively for use with thorns up to 1 / 2 "diameter. Trying to open large thorns with this machine can cause the fingers on the comb opener to break. This means that the C55 can only be used for tying up documents 90 sheets of 20 lb paper.
- This machine also has a small chip tray must be emptied often. If the tray is not empty tile when filling the machine can be difficult to drill and if left long enough the machine can actually be damaged.
Recommendation:
- The GBC CombBind C55 is the perfect system connecting a user they need to produce small handful of documents each week.
- Its small lightweight design and comfortable carrying handle also makes it a great choice for a mobile office or for users who need bind documents on the fly.
- However, the plastic construction, small punch capacity and inability to open large combs size makes the C55 a poor choice for users who do any volume required.

How do I change the number label on a Clear Plastic dial Western Electric rotary phone?
I’ve have a Western Electric desk phone from the 70s. I’d like to change the label in the plastic dial to my current phone number, but have no idea how to get to it. Does the center pop out somehow? Do I need to remove the entire dial? If I remove the dial, will I find I can’t get it back on?
Any help is appreciated.
Jim
insert a Paper Clip in the small hole between the #9 and #0. There is a small metal tab underneath the plastic fingerwheel. While depressing that small metal tab, turn the plastic fingerwheel counter clockwise to remove the fingerwheel.
