Plastic Surgery Improves Appearance and Enhances Self Image

Plastic surgery is a type of procedure that is used to improve the appearance and function of patients’ bodies. Some plastic surgery procedures are called “cosmetic” and others are called “reconstructive.” Whether or not a procedure is “only” cosmetic depends on the reason behind its performance. facelift designed to provide a more youthful appearance for a sixty year old woman is different from a facelift that is performed to reconstruct the face of an accident victim or a cancer patient.

The psychological effects of plastic surgery can vastly improve the quality of life for people who are unhappy with the way they look. Each of us has a “self image,” a perception of how we believe we look to others. People who are happy with their self image are more likely to be self confident, effective in work and social situations and comfortable in their relationships. Those who are dissatisfied tend to be self conscious, inhibited and less inclined to accept assignments or jobs that would put them in the spotlight in any way. This is particularly true for accident victims who become suddenly disfigured and are forced to deal with a vastly altered physical appearance.

Plastic surgery, whether it is cosmetic or reconstructive, promotes a strong,

Positive self image. Even a small change on the outside can create a positive change on the inside. Because the changes resulting from plastic surgery are often dramatic and permanent, it is important that you have a clear understanding of how surgery might make you feel long before a procedure is scheduled. Some people undergo psychological counseling prior to plastic surgery so they will be emotionally prepared to accept their new image.

Before your procedure is performed your plastic surgeon will ask you some questions to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. It is important that you set aside any awkwardness you may feel and speak candidly about the changes you expect to see. It is essential that you and your surgeon understand each other completely.

Recovery time will vary depending on the type of procedure, your general health and your willingness to comply with post surgical instructions. Most patients find that the minor discomfort associated with procedures are worth it because of the psychological boost an improved appearance can offer. The demand for plastic surgery continues to grow.

Plastic surgery procedures in the United States tend to be very expensive and are usually not covered by health insurance. Because of this, more and more people are joining the throng of medical tourists who go offshore to have procedures performed at a fraction of what the procedures cost in the United States.

Some offshore plastic surgery clinics offer “package deals” that include round-trip tickets, hotel stays and meals. The procedures are often performed by western trained doctors who operate in state-of-the-art clinics. Once you decide to have plastic surgery, it is important to conduct research to determine if you want to have it performed in the United States or if an offshore procedure is appropriate for you.

bathe a baby?

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can buy a small oval shaped (or similar) basin to bathe baby. Preferably plastic. I'm not looking for a real infant tub. Prefer not to slope or drainage or anything. Just something that can put a towel on the filling and about 2 inches of water and bathe the baby. I thought about using a toilet, sink, but ours is too small, and I'm not too fond of the idea of baby bathroom to wash the dishes (I know many ppl and what is safe and all) … any other ideas about where to find something like this? I use a regular tub, but more likely have a caesarean section, and will not be able to bend over the tub to wash the baby, so I'm looking for something to put on the table until I heal.

Just get a regular baby bath, bathing in it. You can put on the slope and you do not have to worry about a slippery slide in the baby thew water and drown or get water in the ear. Then as he grows he can only sit on it for a bath. Or you can take a bath with him and increase bonding. What is the real point of having a real baby bath anyway? You can put a towel in the regular tub too. You can put a towel on a baby Your way. I think I'm confused as to what he feels the problem is with normal baby baths. Edited to say: Most parents do not give their children bathing in tubs until the umbilical cord falls off. This is what is recommended and a little child will not need a bath every day because it is too harsh for your skin. At the time that is ready, he healed. They also make tubs that fit on top of the stack and can slide to the counter if you do not have a double sink. I have a one, so I know it exists.
