Rubber Stamps: The solution

In May 1993, Jennifer Mercer was fresh out of graduate business school at Florida State University. It faced a problem. What business to start? Jennifer was short on funds and the economy at the moment does not lend to start-ups. After several months of exhaustive search, Jennifer learned that his grandfather Lorenzo was withdrawing from an Office Supply business small in Lake City Florida. Lawrence wanted to sell his business, but could not, given the economic conditions. After speaking with Jennifer, Lawrence offered to give the day to day business to it. If after one year Jennifer positive results could then take over the entire enterprise. Jennifer accepted the offer and moved to Lake City.

Jennifer began to manage the business from his grandfather and soon discovered that she was in a state of disorder. One of the most formidable was a large inventory of rubber stamps Lawrence has been unable to sell. If Jennifer could find a way to sell inventory that would give the company a huge boost and free space for other products. Jennifer inventoried All rubber stamps and found four different types: Pre Ink Stamps, dater stamps, seals and stamps, fax clothes.

Jennifer did an investigation and presented some ideas. Firstly, fax sell stamps. Jennifer went to university in the state and visited its administrative offices. She had reasoned that there constant demand for faxing school records and transcripts. Jennifer met with school administrators and suggested that pre-inked stamps could be used to indicate "Official Transcript Copy and fax seals could make an official acknowledgment that a copy had been sent by fax. Once Jennifer was able to customize the messages seal official school letterhead and logos, she was able to sell twenty pre-inked stamps and eleven stamps sent by fax. Beauty to see this niche was that Jennifer could travel to other schools and the same to sell its entire inventory of custom stamps and pre-inked fax.

As a joke, Jennifer has also worked with his grandfather to the wood handle stamps that had produced many college logos. These are announced with an offer customization for each university can choose your own individual message that is added to each stamp. This idea beautifully executed and resulted in a third of its inventory of stamps for sale. Jennifer was officially on a roll Rubber Stamp. He went to nightclubs in the cities of the same university and are sold pre-inked custom stamps with phosphorescent glow in the dark ink. The stamps were ideal to mark the club's customers were old enough to drink alcohol.

Perhaps the biggest coup came when Jennifer devised a solution to the sale of the stamps dater. It took two cups of coffee on a Sunday morning to realize that supermarkets need to dater stamps to indicate expiry dates on food. In fact, this was mandated by law. After two weeks of travel and meeting with managers from different supermarkets, sold dater stamps like hotcakes, and got rid of its remaining inventory of Ink Pad too.

The last type of label remaining were the hallmarks Trodat clothing. These stamps were intended to stamp specialized fabrics, usually clothing and uniforms. Jennifer came up with the idea to sell these stamps to different clothing companies restaurants provided. This solution seemed a little strange at first sight. Jennifer had worked in a restaurant in your undergraduate years and recalled how much wearing clothes, either in the form of tablecloths and kitchen uniforms. Apparel companies needed to have a way to make a discreet clothing to indicate its ownership by reducing and losses. The plan worked and Trodat stamps sold well.

Lorenzo was elated by the success of her granddaughter and gave full control the company for her. Lorenzo was also surprised to discover that, prior to the sale of all rubber stamps, Jennifer went and ordered a new inventory to throughout to sell biodegradable ink.
