What did ‘cave women’ do for their period if there was no pads or tampons?

I know it’s a stupid way too phrase it but I’m not too good with my dates.. so around the ‘cave men’ and ‘cave women’ time what did women do when they got their period? Lmao. Like did they just stick a leaf up there or something? We had no pads or tampons so did they just bleed down there? And how did they know even to have sex if they could barely talk?
