Do White Boards (Marker Boards) come with out the tray?

I am looking for a marker board. I want it to be 3′ wide by 4′ long. A 3×4 or a 36”x48″. I have checked many sites and every one seems to have a tray. So I am wondering if someone could direct me to a site that sells a board with out the tray OR if they can tell me if the tray can be removed. Thanks for your help.

I was a teacher for many years and the kids loved to use white boards, but they were expensive (on a teacher’s budget for a whole class set). I went to home depot and bought white shower board and the guy there cut it into the sizes that I wanted. It is the exact same material, but only $12 a sheet. You could have them cut it down to the size you want and use molding to frame it out. The Dry Erase markers wipe right off!
