Original Title Stamp
How to remove Lien holders name from car title?
Back in 2007 we took a loan out and used my car title as collateral. We filed for chapter 7 in 2008 and this loan company was sent paper work for the court date but never showed up. I’m pretty positive I have the Original Title. It has the seal stamped or pressed into the paper. How do I know if I have the original copy? If I do have it how do I get there name off it? I’m thinking about selling the car and don’t want to have any problems doing so. Thanks
If the Chapter 7 that you filed was approved and the title loan was a part of the debt included with that then it should be pretty simple. If you received the title back from the title loan company and they’ve officially signed off the lien in the designated area on the title then all you should have to do is take it to the DMV and request it to placed back in your name.
