What is happening to my brake fluid?
I drive a '06 Pontiac G6 with about 43,000 miles on it. Last month I had my head replacement pads at the dealership. About 2 weeks later, my brake light starting coming. About 2 days later, I checked my brake fluid it was low so added about 1 / 2 bottle. It's been about 2 weeks since then, now the light is back on. I just put the other half of the bottle, the light went out again. Do you think there is a leak or the dealer drained the fluid and repetition, no? Have taken two weeks for the brake light come on if the fluid is emptied? Also, how much damage I have done to my probable brake system if the extra notes?, My brakes do not squeak or vibration at all. I appreciate any input. Thanks for the quick response!
Only two reasons for the low level. The system still has some air or if a leak. Do you see any liquid on the ground? Generally, if there is a leak, the liquid will run off somewhere under long after the park, so you can see the evidence, if you park on the right type of surface that will display the drain if only a single drop. Take it back to the store. Either way, not refill the system properly or if there is a leak to be fixed to make sure you drive.
