Magnet stuck on refrigerator door?

I have a flexible magnet which would normally go on the back of a car (therefore it’s a strong magnet, but still easily removable) on my refrigerator door, when I went to move the magnet, part of it was stuck to the door. I ended up even peeling away the magnet (thereby ruining it) trying to get it off but to no avail. I now have a strip of magnet welded to my door. Any suggestions on how to get it off?

Use a plastic scrapper so as not to scratch or dent the door.
