Can writing on your skin with pen/marker daily for many years affect you in a significantly negative way?
I have been writing on the back of my hand with pen, Permanent Marker, etc. almost every other day for the past ~5 years. This morning, I wrote a particularly long note and now my skin feels itchy and irritated…
Are there any more significant negative effects of writing on your skin? Like maybe some health condition that may arise in the future that I’m not obviously experiencing now?

permanant marker has chemicals that are harmfull if ingested into the blood stream. anything we come in contact with can absorb into the skin. toxic metals are a big one. i have tattoos and i can say that even those can be harmfull. you can still get ink poisoning from a tattoo. if your gonna write on your self use a crayola marker instead. they are Non Toxic. i dont know of the long term effects but you could develop ink poisoning symptoms from prolonged use. youd begin feeling ill.yeah id stay away from the permanent markers. they are not good for your body. i used to know a girl who tried to give herself a tattoo with a pen. luckily her body rejected it before she got ink poisoning. so even though your not tattooing yourself you will still absorb it into the skin. so id stop using them
