Pecan pie is a type of cake made with nuts as a main ingredient. conventional pecan pie is thick, rich and fairly sticky and can be very sweet. There are several ways to make a pecan pie and many people delight in experimentation, to discover his recipe perfect. This dessert is closely linked to South America, where the pie is very popular, especially during the winter season.

The origin the pecan pie is vague, but several people say that this dessert began in New Orleans and what is popular today. Other people means that it can be further south than that. cake pecan creation could even be a totally invented, selected to promote a brand of corn syrup, as the company claims. Whenever your origin, pecan pie does not begin to appear in cookery books until the 1920s.

The addition of corn syrup in pecan pie is still a debate. Many people say that to make a real pecan pie, this dish should always have corn syrup, and many recipes include different brands. Others argue that the presence of corn syrup is sweeter makes great pecan pie and a bit tasteless, so they use other alternatives such as brown sugar mixed with water or maple syrup with a little molasses. The choice is, of course, yours, but if you have tried pecan pie and found it to be too sweet, might try to exclude corn syrup.

In general, pecan pie has a flaky crust conventional light, almost like butter. Usually, the bark is sweetened a little, because the walnut cake is already sweet enough and the slightly salty taste offers another dimension to the dish with sugar. This kind of crust known as pate or fine brisee brisee pate, and is very versatile.

To create a traditional pecan pie, a cup of sugar, combined with two thirds of a cup of maple syrup or corn syrup along with a spoonful of rum and 4 tablespoons of butter. These ingredients should be boiled, then allowed to cool before a quarter teaspoon of salt, quarter cup of cream and three beaten eggs are added to the mix. Two cups of lightly chopped, toasted walnuts can be added to this mixture, or can be used to cover the base of the baked piecrust, then pour the filling over them. Then baked at three hundred degrees Fahrenheit or one hundred eighty degrees Celsius for about forty five minutes, then let the cake cool.

pecan pie can be served with chocolate shaving or whipped cream, whipped cream flavored with a little syrup added maple, rum or whiskey. This will make a very nice pecan pie and decadent.

For an alternative, without the use of corn syrup, you can take a teaspoon rum, which is added to the filling, which consists of a half cup of melted butter, three eggs and a pound of brown sugar. Whip this together with a cup of chopped walnuts roasted place in a piecrust and bake the same as before.
