What colour to paint a desk ‘cavity’?

I recently demolished my inbuilt wardrobe to make way for a desk space. So, the desk is built into the wall cavity. What colour would suit this space? The only colours I have in that room is dark wood furniture and a deep wine coloured purple and light purple/pink bedsheets. My walls are just undercoated, I haven’t decided on a colour just yet. The room is very small.

You would want a bright colour to make the room look bigger like a white or cream but then you need a soft colour to sooth your mind as you work, I assume its to be your Computer Desk, something like a light mauve or lilac, hope this helps you,,, see now you have something to think about,,,,,,, Hmmmmm i think its time for a wine.
