What background color glass for photography?

Hi, I'm an artist who recently earned a BFA in sculpture. Now I have a job in a glass factory that does sandblasting etching and carving. We are a small company and our website is totally DIY. It's part of my job to take photos prodect for our website. I know a bit about photography, but nothing about taking pictures of glass. We are currently in the process of creating a zone photos for large items, like tables etc. I have done some research online about your type of photography and found some good advice (light behind or above black panels on the sides, etc), but I have to choose a backdrop. What color should it be? It is very important that art be visible engraving. I'm thinking maybe a lighter color, and if we shine the light on one area, others will be dark in the photo, but what do I know? Someone please me because I really adivse I do not know what I'm doing. Any other good glass photo tips would also be welcome! thanks

I just shot some glass, put me a table and used only once. I used a blue backlight and diffusers used two hotlights put before them to kill the shadows, I had my two lamps measured in the same f stops. Another time I shot glass with hotlights had three lights, put one in the left one on the right and make a backlight. The two lights on the front had broadcasters in the back had none, my light was a stop right than the left, which was a higher stop the backlight
